How To Finish

This new console from the Allwood collection from Archbold furniture is made of a unique wood called Paulownia.  The fine grain is warp resitant and stains beautifully.  We put a two tone finish on this piece to match a clients table and chair set.  This piece is so versatile and could be used as a side board, tv console or bedroom storage.

Colors used here are are own mix "Friske 13/7" which is a blend of General Finishes Danish Teak and Antique Cherry.  The lighter color is "Cinnamon" and is a blend of Honey and Antique Cherry.

How To Finish

Featured Technique

This china hutch details how you can turn ordinary into extraordinary.  A darker base stain was applied first, then an embossed stencil was applied to the sides (we used joint compound!), the entire piece was then covered with white satin enamel and trim molding in green and yellow, then sanded off in selected areas to create the antique patina, lastly an antiquing stain was applied overall with subtle green and coral highlights.  The picture doesn't do it justice.
